week three: planning

 PLANNING:

  • First I need to get a wedding suit
  • gather two of my friends to help me film and exchange ideas with me
  • get dress shoes
  • get a haircut so I can look nice in the video
  • keep researching on how to develop the story without confusing the audience
  • find a tense music that will match with the vibe of the video
  • make my room look basic and not colorful
  • find  a neutral color palette
  • clean the mirror in the bathroom for a better quaility

The neutral color palette will indicate that's something is off about the character because this color palette is very basic which shows no emotions or probably that the character is mental ill

People don't know that the character suffers from a trauma because his wife pass away

the selection of black as the wedding suit is the most suited because it goes with the them and is also a very basic color that leaves the audience to think more about the character

THIS are the basic elements and things that I will be needing for my production, I will let you guys know if something is added.

week three: shooting schedule

 SHOOTING SCHEDULES

the most exited part of the project is almost here. THE FILMING PART, here is the time to show my filming techniques and demonstrate how can I display an excellent job. The will always be the most exited part of every project because you can just be free and show your ideas to the audience. All the projects that we have done throughout the year I've learned how to shoot in a way that the audience can be interested. The most important thing to do is to know how to engage with the audience and know how to develop a story.

I will be shooting during the 5th week that will be exactly on 3/6-3/12 that's were I will have time to do it due to outside activities like my job. I know what elements I need to get before my shooting session.

One of the most important elements that I will need in my filming will be a wedding suit, a camera, and a female voice. (  my mom will be outside of the country so she cannot help me :(   )

All of the elements I already got them and are ready to be film

I will keep you guys updated if there is any changes on the shooting schedule

week three: storyboard

 STORYBOARD

On todays post I will be telling you guys about my story that Im going to film in my opening scene. Since the first day this has been my story that I want to develop because I think is interesting and eye catching.

My story will be about a man that is getting ready for his wedding, the man shows a mix of emotions during the opening scene because he is not sure if he wants to get married but at the end he will completely sure about it and is very happy about. everything starts at the bathroom were he is going to see himself in the mirror and the different emotions are going to be displayed. Suddenly when somethings seems to be perfectly nice someone calls him and tells him that Luisa disappeared and nobody knows where she is.

This is a summary basically of what my story will be like

This is the  first storyboard I will be making.

currently I don't got a title for my opening scene

I JUST CREATE AN EXCELLENT IDEA WHILE I WAS DOIND THE STORYBOARD

the plot changed and now Luisa didn't disappeared, she is actually dead 2 years ago and all is in the protagonist head making him a psychopath

week three: layout drawings

LAYOUT DRAWING

Hi guys, so this week I've been working on my layout drawing. This has been a fun part of my project since I honestly love to draw and this is a fun way to show my drawing skills. The layout drawing will showcase the dimension of the opening scene because It will show the size of the room and restroom that the opening scene will be film. All my filming will occur on my apartment, this is not because I'm lazy to go outside and film in other parts probably more entertaining but because my apartment is the one place that fits my opening scene theme and has the items necessary for the video. Good so without more explanation let me show you guys the layout drawing.

The main locations that I will be filming is going to be the restroom and the master bedroom

the master bedroom will include the closet where I will be taking the clothes I'm going to wear

the restroom will include the mirror where I will look myself until I get the tragic news

the kitchen is where my mother will be located the whole time so her voice can be clear when she talks to me

week two: Technology

What are the New Technologies Helping to Make Movies Today? | Tech Times

TECHNOLOGY:

I have to be realistic and know that I am not a professional film director and I don't have the technology available as them I basically only have my phone and my computer, but this doesn't mean that is going to stop me to make a great opening scene that people will enjoy.

this are some technologies used is movies that could help me if I had it

1.VIDEO CAMARA: One of the most important parts of your kit is your camera. Choosing a camera for your project will revolve first of all around your budget, but also on the project’s subject.

2. LENSES: There’re so many different types of shots, angles and filters that you need when shooting a movie. It’s advisable to start building up a nice set of lenses and filters for your camera. Start off by getting the basics and then, as you grow, you can get those ones that just give your shots a little extra quality.

3. LIGHTING: You cannot do without lighting no matter what time of day it is. There may just be something that’s a bit shadowed and needs that little ray of light. Most studio type shots can be done with a complete lighting set but when you’re on a location there’s no really time to rush off and set that up.

4. TRIPOD:Once the camera is positioned and steady it’s just as easy to lift the tripod and reposition it. This takes away the shake of a video and gives you more flow to zoom around the room.

5. MICROPHONE: A professional quality microphone makes a world of difference to the sound quality of the video. You need it, if you really want to catch what is being said for speeches, for a movie with dialogues.

6. LIGHTING REFLECTOR:A light reflector is one of the handiest devices you’re going to have with your camera. It’ll enable a dull shot to become nice, clear and shine, or turn a novice looking shot into the one that was done by a seasoned professional.

it will be a good idea to use lighting and tripod into my opening scene because it will give more style and it would look more professional

week two: plot aspects

What Is the Plot of a Story? The 5 Parts of the Narrative

PLOT ASPECTS:

A plot is a sequence of events within a movie that tells a story. Essentially, a plot is what makes a story. Five components make up a plot: exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and resolution--conflict and theme help drive the plot forward.

  • 6) PACE:
    • work well or drag, how? too fast, too slow
  • (7) MUSIC/SOUND:
    • sound creates mood; believe what see b/c in part what you hear
    • How does music/sound contribute to the production?
  • (8) CINEMATOGRAPHY/DIRECTING TECHNIQUES, EFFECTS:
    • lighting, positioning; “moving pictures;” special effects
    • How does cinematography contribute to film?
  • (9) DIRECTOR:
    • style, interpretation, pace, acting, music, costumes
    • Has s/he done her/his job?
  • (10) VALUE:
    • moral, social, psychological value beyond entertainment
    • Is the entertainment value enough for you to recommend this production?
  • Conflict: tension, stress, pressure struggle between opposing forces
    • problems, antagonisms, arguments, resistance
    • effort, clashes, impediments
    • obstacles to goals/desires
    • creates tension, crisis, suspense
  • PERSON vs.
    • (internal)
      • Self
    • (external)
      • Person
      • Society
      • Nature/Environment
      • Deity
      • Supernatural Entity
      • Technology

We can definitely understand that the plot is one if not the most important in a movie, it is what drives the attention of the audience and we can underhand that a movie with a bad plot is the worst that exist because it turns the movie to a waste of time and it becomes very boring. I want my plot to be interesting and not too much repetitive because filming a plot that is seen often in every drama movie will be so repetitive and boring. A factor that is also very important is the "pace", the pace of a movie is something very important because it leads to the attention of the audience. a movie with a fast pacing it will feel force and little professional but a movie with a neutral pace will definitely drive the attention and keep the audience engaged with the movie.

week two: characters

 GENRE DRAMA: CHARACTERS

A dramatic film or television show shows us humans at their best and their worst. These kinds of films can be biopics based on real people or fictitious stories. They usually include a strong moral stance or view of the world around them. the characters in these films are always dealing with what life has to offer.

The protagonist of my opening scene is going to be me. Im going to display an excellent job as an actor and show my skills. I will be playing an older role so I have to fit into the character and act if I was old.

characteristics of drama characters

-problem solver

-ambitious

-have moral standards
